A promotion for Sidney Printing Works, a long-standing offset printing company located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Cityscapes is a hardcover volume of six fold-out spreads, 36” x 12,” depicting various aspects of Cincinnati. The book is experimental and is used to demonstrate the latest in printing technology. The designs for the various pages include die cuts, metallic and neon inks, custom halftones, and up to as many as twelve different inks per page on some spreads. 

Joe Bottoni was one of six designers selected to work on this collaboration. JOE’S BARBER SHOP, depicts an imagined neighborhood located in southwestern Ohio. Fantasized barber shops and other nostalgic American icons contribute an air of delightfulness and folkiness to this provincial setting, but sadly as the pages unfold, the  time is running out for the last of their kind…the independently owned local barber shop.
